Terms of service

These terms cover your institute's use of Batchly. By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of your institute.

Your account

• You are responsible for what your staff do with their accounts, including keeping their sign-in details to themselves.
• You must have the right to hold the student and guardian data you enter, and to send the messages you send.
• One account per institute. Branches belong inside one account, not beside it.

The trial

Every new institute gets 2 months with every feature enabled, with no card required. When the trial ends your account becomes read-only until you choose a plan — nothing is deleted, and you can still view and export everything.

Plans and payment

• Prices shown on the pricing page are inclusive of GST.
• Subscriptions are charged automatically each period through Razorpay, against a card or UPI mandate you authorise.
• An upgrade takes effect immediately and is charged pro-rata. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
• If a charge fails we retry it and give you 7 days' grace, during which the account keeps working normally.

Cancelling

You can cancel from the billing page at any time, without asking us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — we do not cut you off early and we do not refund part-periods. After that the account becomes read-only.

If you stop paying

• Your account becomes read-only: you can sign in, view and export, but not add or edit.
• Your data is kept for 60 days, after which the account is suspended. Even then the data is not deleted — ask us and we will export it or reactivate the account.

Your data is yours

You can export everything, as CSV, at any time — including while read-only. We do not hold your data hostage to a payment, and we do not charge for an export.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the messaging features to send marketing to people who have not agreed to hear from you. Indian email and messaging regulations apply to you, not to us.
• Do not attempt to access another institute's data, or to probe the service for weaknesses without telling us first.
• Do not resell access to the software without a written agreement with us.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available and to give notice of planned maintenance, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on the standard plans. If you need one, talk to us.

Liability

The software is provided as it is. We are liable only for direct losses, and only up to the amount your institute has paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost revenue, lost data you could have exported, or decisions taken on the basis of a report.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will email the billing address on your account at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use the service after that counts as accepting the change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of the city in which our registered office sits have jurisdiction over any dispute.
